This is an INSCRIPT-based layout for the Grantha script. This layout is associated with Sanskrit (India) language.

Implementation notes:

• The joiners are assigned as follows:
  • Ctrl+Shift+1 zero-width joiner
  • Ctrl+Shift+2 zero-width non-joiner

Font: The Google Noto project contains both serif and sans serif version of the font, available for download here. In recent versions of Windows this font is also part of the Sans Serif Collection, however not all applications use it automatically yet. Especially Microsoft Word when typing chooses a font that does not contain Grantha characters and it appears as if the user is not typing anything. Changing the font manually makes the letters appear.

Installation instructions:

1. Download and extract graninsc.zip (252 kB)
2. Run setup.exe.
3. Sign out or restart your computer.
